Author: Aline D. Wolf

Aline D. Wolf’s philosophy for writing this book can be easily summed up in a single quote by Norman Cousins. “The first aim of education should not be to prepare young people for careers but to enable them to develop respect for life.” Nurturing the Spirit takes a look at the meaning of spirituality, what it means to be a spiritually aware adult, and how to weave the concepts of respect for all beings and a sense of universal connection into the lives of children. Although the title of this book seems to be geared towards teachers, I would highly recommend this exceptional resource to anyone who interacts with children on a regular basis. Many of the ideas that Wolf discusses such as cultivating stillness, care of the earth, children’s inner peace and love, spirituality and the arts, and what about God can be easily adapted for home use. I would also encourage anyone who knows a teacher to pass on this gift in an attempt to inject a deeper meaning into the classroom experience in an era where schools are losing their focus on the true aim of education
